Memorable Dates of Russia: “Alexander Blok Memorial Day” takes place in St. Petersburg
On August 7, 2022 the Blok Apartment-Museum (St. Petersburg) hosts an annual event – Alexander Blok Memorial Day.
The poet’s name is inextricably associated with the era of the Silver Age of Russian culture. August of 1921, when Blok died and Gumilyov was executed, became a tragic milestone in the history of Russia.
On this day, guests have an opportunity to visit places, associated with the life and work of the most Petersburg poet.
The agenda:
10:30 – a minute of honoring A. A. Blok in his last apartment (the Blok Apartment-Museum, Decembrists Street, 57).
12:00 – visiting the Smolensky Cemetery, the place of the poet’s first burial.
13:00 – a memorial service in the Smolensky Cemetery Resurrection Church.
14:30 – visiting A. A. Blok’s grave on the Literary Bridges of the Volkovo Cemetery.
17:00 – a literary evening in the poet’s home (the Blok Apartment-Museum, Decembrists Street, 57).
