The Presidential Library opened a reading room in one of the leading gymnasiums in Vladivostok

The remote access center to the resources of the Presidential Library has been opened in gymnasium № 1 in Vladivostok. This is the first school in the city which hosts a remote reading room of the Presidential Library. Also on this day, the institutions signed a cooperation agreement. The document was signed by Acting Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov and director of the educational institution Elena Artyomenko. The agreement, signed within the framework of the 7th Eastern Economic Forum, will be aimed at creating a single information space of knowledge in the field of history, theory and practice of Russian statehood and the Russian language.

The electronic reading room of the Presidential Library will provide access to the entire collection, which contains more than a million digitized copies of documents and materials on the history of Russia, will provide new opportunities for using electronic resources in educational and upbringing activities, will allow students and teachers to actively participate in video conferences, webinars, video lectures, Olympiads and other projects of the Presidential Library. All this will contribute to the moral and patriotic education of the younger generation.

According to Acting Director General of the Presidential Library Yuri Nosov, "the experience of cooperation with organizations in the field of education shows how effective the use of modern IT technology can be in order to expand access to knowledge".

The parties also plan to open a methodological center for the development of the secondary education system based on the school.

Gymnasium № 1 of Vladivostok has a rich history. It turns 120 this year. Today it is a modern educational institution of an innovative type with a sophisticated program aimed at revealing the creative potential of students. Pupils of the gymnasium regularly show excellent academic success, become participants and winners of regional, all-Russian and international contests and Olympiads.

Among the teaching staff of the educational institution there are about 50 teachers of the highest category, honored teachers, candidates of sciences, honorary educators, winners and prize-awardees of branch contests. So, the teacher of gymnasium № 1 Anna Alekseeva this year became the winner of the regional stage of the All-Russian contest of professional skills "Teacher of the Year".

The Presidential Library takes part in the VII Eastern Economic Forum and within its framework presents a number of events aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership with the region..

In particular, a series of meetings are being held with representatives of state authorities of Far Eastern Federal District and Primorye Territory, rectors of universities. It is planned to sign a number of cooperation agreements. Specialists of the Presidential Library will also hold a workshop for employees of the educational and cultural system of the Primorye Territory, where they will discuss the potential of the information resources of the institution. In addition, it is planned to open remote access centers to the resources of the Presidential Library.

Especially for the VII Eastern Economic Forum, the Presidential Library has prepared a new major electronic collection Far East: Point of Attraction. It features more than 1,500 materials that spotlight the history, economy, science, culture of the region and reveal the role of the region in the international political system.
