Peoples of Russia: International campaign “Great Ethnographic Dictation” starts

International campaign Great Ethnographic Dictation is being held on November 3–8, 2022.

The campaign’s slogan this year is “Numerous peoples – one country!”.

Great Ethnographic Dictation is an educational project that introduces its participants to the culture of the peoples living in Russia, as well as evaluates the general level of ethnic and cultural literacy. The campaign is organized by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs.

Tasks of the Dictation are designed as a test and include 30 questions:

– 20 questions constitute the federal part of the Dictation, same for all participants;

– 10 questions constitute the regional part of the Dictation, unique for every subject of the Russian Federation.

The maximum amount of points for completing all tasks is 100.

45 minutes are given to complete the Dictation.

The certificate of the participant featuring the results is formed immediately after completing the Dictation in electronic form.

This year, participants have an opportunity to view the correct answer and historical notes with references right away.
