The events of the Patriotic War of 1812 discussed at the youth forum in Syria

The Russian House in Damascus hosted the Youth Conference of Compatriots and the II All-Syrian Youth Forum “Russia. Historical heritage". This year the theme of the forum was dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812.

The event hosted episodes and heroes of that time. The children also attended the intellectual contest "Svoya Igra".

The final day of the forum provided a quest based on Leo Tolstoy's book "War and Peace". Following the event, the head of the Russian House in Syria, Nikolai Sukhov, presented certificates to all participants.

The remote access center to Information resources of the Presidential Library, opened in 2022 at the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Damascus, today allows guests of the Russian House learning about the whole variety of collections of the library's electronic holdings.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the collection Patriotic War of 1812, which involves more than 800 depository items. It includes archival documents, cartographic, audiovisual and other materials from the institution’s electronic collections.

A large number of materials on Russian-Syrian relations is available in the electronic collection of the Presidential Library Russia - Syria: the History of Relations. It includes research papers, reference, archival and other materials spotlighting the history of relations between Russia and Syria from the 19th century to the present day.
