Chelyabinsk Regional Centre of the Presidential Library prepared an educational program marking the 110th anniversary of Sergey Mikhalkov

Specialists of the Chelyabinsk Regional Centre of the Presidential Library have prepared a game program Favourite Poems and Fairy Tales of Our Childhood for the youngest readers. The event was timed to coincide with the 110th anniversary of the birth of the writer and poet Sergey Vladimirovich Mikhalkov, the author of many wonderful children’s poems.

The program was attended by children from Chelyabinsk kindergartens № 339, 404, 423, who learned about the biography of the poet, his childhood, and discovered that Sergey Mikhalkov wrote his first poems at the age of 9. When the young author turned 15, his first publication was issued.

The young participants of the program guessed the names of Mikhalkov’s works from fragments of cartoons of the same name, repeated the letters and numbers in the poems ABC and Kittens, guessed riddles.

Love and care for the inner world of children is evident in the works of Sergey Mikhalkov. His poems are simple, sincere, kind and very easy to remember. The participants also tried themselves as poets and inserted the missing rhymes into the famous works of the author. The culmination of the game program included creative performances based on poems and fairy tales by Sergey Mikhalkov, which the children prepared together with the teachers.

The collection Chelyabinsk Region: Pages of History is available on the Presidential Library’s portal. It features official and archival documents, research studies, essays, statistical, visual, cartographic and other materials spotlighting the administrative structure, geographical location, demographic, economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Chelyabinsk Region.
