VI National Scientific and Methodological Conference "Architecture of University Education" held at the Presidential Library

On June 1, 2023 the Presidential Library hosted the first day of the VI National Scientific and Methodological Conference with international participation “Architecture of University Education: New Educational Opportunities for the Sovereignty of Russia”. The co-organizer of the event is St. Petersburg State University of Economics.

Unique in its scale and significance, the annual national conference with international participation "Architecture of University Education" has already become an authoritative discussion, scientific, methodological and educational platform for discussions and the development of effective solutions.

For the sixth year in a row, the oldest of the universities in St. Petersburg - St. Petersburg State University of Economics - brings together leading experts in the field of education, business and government at the Presidential Library. This is no coincidence.

According to Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, “the library’s collections include numerous documents related to the history of the national economy. The library’s specialists have created and added the specialized collection "Russian State and Economy". These resources will help to develop new educational tools and programs”.

The relevant objective of the conference in 2023 is to develop and discuss a set of fundamental decisions in key areas of transforming the architecture of university education, improving its quality and designing "advanced" educational programs in the context of the emerging new national model of training for sovereign Russia, the development of science and effective collaborations with business and with organizations taking an increasingly active position in the educational space and acting as subjects of educational activity and catalysts for change.

The Presidential Library traditionally joins the discussion of the problems of the development of the higher education system, which is held within the framework of the conference.

Thus, the specialists of the Presidential Library, Head of the Scientific and Methodological Department Stanislav Alekseev and Deputy Director of the Department for Scientific and Educational Work Aleksei Voronovich joined the round table as experts on June 1 entitled “The Role of Cultural and Educational Institutions in the Formation of Personality”.

The event focused on the role of cultural and educational institutions in the preservation and development of the spiritual culture of the nation, military and patriotic education. The round table was moderated by Ilya Demakov, Director of the Gorchakov Lyceum at MGIMO, a partner of the Presidential Library. As part of a joint project, in order to preserve the memory of the most important events in the history of the country, counteract attempts to falsify history, patriotic education of young people, teachers of the lyceum and library specialists are preparing video lessons about the Second World War based on the Presidential Library’s materials.

In 2023 the conference program includes a plenary discussion, 11 thematic discussion platforms on key topics of the conference, a series of educational marathons in the format of additional professional education programs and workshops, as well as a youth block, thematic exhibition and cultural programs.
