Educational event dedicated to Constitution of Russia held in Murmansk Regional Center of Presidential Library
On December 12th, 2024, the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Murmansk State Regional Universal Scientific Library, hosted an educational event titled The Constitution of Russia: Understanding and Studying. The event was timed to coincide with Constitution Day in the Russian Federation.
The event was attended by students from the Murmansk College of Economics and Information Technology. During the event, students learned about the history and development of the Russian Constitution, as well as its adoption through popular vote. They were also provided with thematic materials from the Presidential Library's collection, including the film Right to have the Constitution and a fragment from the documentary Symbols of Presidential Power. These materials provided an insight into the history of constitutional projects and the inauguration process for the head of state.
During the event, children were also given the opportunity to check their level of legal literacy through a quiz called Do you Know the Constitution of the Russian Federation? The students had to answer questions about articles from the Basic Law that protect the rights and freedoms of citizens.
On the Presidential Library's portal, visitors can take a virtual tour of the Constitution Hall and visit the multimedia exhibition Constitutional Human Rights: From Projects to Practice, which was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Russian Constitution. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Presidential Library and the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner in Russia, and it uses materials from the Presidential Library's collection to showcase events from the 17th century to the present day.
