
Director General of Presidential Library visits National Library of Belarus
On December 27, 2024, the Director General of the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation, Yuri Nosov, made a working visit to the National Library of Belarus. During the visit, bilateral meetings were held with Deputy General Directors Lyudmila Vysotskaya and Alexander Babuk on behalf of the National Library.
The main topic of discussion was the preparation for the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in 2025, which will mark an important event. The parties also discussed the implementation of international projects such as Poems by National Poets of the USSR on the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 and Role of the Peoples of the USSR in the Great Victory.
The Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and the National Library of Belarus are actively collaborating. This year, a cooperation agreement between the two institutions was signed, and an electronic reading room has been opened at the National Library.
One of the important goals of cooperation between Russia and Belarus is to preserve their historical, cultural, and scientific heritage. This includes providing access to digital copies of documents and materials related to the history of both countries' statehood and the Russian and Belarusian languages, which are official languages in both the Russian Federation and Belarus.
On the Presidential Library's portal, readers can find the electronic collection Russia - Belarus: the History of Relations, which contains official documents, archival materials, and scientific research on cooperation between the two countries. Most of these materials focus on the role of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, including periodicals, military leaflets, and partisan newspapers.
The staff at the Presidential Library regularly collaborates with their Belarusian counterparts and participates in various events, both domestically and internationally, to exchange knowledge and experiences.
