Video lecture marks Heroes of Fatherland at Presidential Library

On February 21st, 2025, Anna Buyanova, a Candidate of Historical Sciences and Head of the Excursion and Mass Department at the State Museum of Urban Sculpture delivered a video lecture titled Knowledge of Russia at the Presidential Library.

This event is part of the Triumph of Winners project, which is being implemented by the State Museum of Urban Sculpture in collaboration with the Russian Military Historical Society. The goals of this project include engaging with society through patriotic activities and exploring the lives of heroes featured in the National Pantheon, as well as promoting the cultural heritage of Russia through the National Pantheon initiative.

Three lectures are planned as part of the project. The first one is Triumph of Vinners: Heroes of the Fatherland in the National Pantheon of Russia, and it was presented on February 21stDuring this lecture, listeners learned about some of the most prominent statesmen and military figures in Russian history whose memory has been preserved in the National Pantheon.

Anna Buyanova spoke about Field Marshal General B. P. Sheremetev, who led Russian troops during the Northern War (1700–1721). She also talked about General I. A. Hannibal, the founder of the city of Kherson. Additionally, she discussed the participants of the Patriotic War of 1812, including Generals P.  A. Stroganov and F. P. Uvarov.

It focused not only on the fate of these historical figures, but also on their contribution to the history of our country. An art historical perspective on the national memorial sculpture was also shown, because the National Pantheon of Russia is a unique cultural heritage, which has no analogues in the world.
