
Kurgan Oblast schoolchildren introduced to resources of Presidential Library
A. K. Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Scientific Library, where the Presidential Library Regional Centre is based, hosted an excursion for schoolchildren of Kargapolye settlement. The guests were introduced to the resources and opportunities of the Trans-Urals library and the Presidential Library.
Specialists of the Regional Centre of the Presidential Library presented the children a virtual exhibition "The Longest Day of June...", which is dedicated to the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The exposition presents the materials of the Collection of digitised archival documents, film and photo materials "World War II in Archival Documents". Its volume today is almost 14 thousand materials: maps, schemes, periodicals, photographs, newsreels. On 13 March 2025 more than 100 documents covering the events of the Great Patriotic War in the period from 14 February to 13 March 1945 were included in the Collection. Thanks to the Presidential Library's portal, these documents are available from anywhere in the world.
During the event, the guests plunged into the history of the Crimean peninsula and studied the Presidential Library's collection The Republic of Crimea: Pages of History. Pupils also took part in a thematic intellectual game "IQ-Quiz – Crimean Spring".
At the end of the meeting, the children joined in weaving a camouflage net for our fighters participating in the Special Military Operation.
