"The Broken Ring" - the memorial, part of the Green Belt of Leningrad's Glory, is located on the western shore of Ladoga Lake. Opened on October 29, 1966. It is located on the Vaganovsk descent, from where the convoys took a course to the eastern shore of the bay Petrokrepost of Lake Ladoga and where they later returned, having covered a distance of 30 kilometers. It is an object of cultural heritage. The author of the idea of ​​the monument was the sculptor KM Simun, the architect VG Filippov, the design engineer IA Rybin, the authors who supplemented the work later: the artist VN Yakovlev, the sculptor VT Dugonets. Two reinforced concrete arches (weight 32 tons, height 7 meters) symbolize the ring of the blockade, the gap between them - the road of life. On the site under the arches in the concrete - traces of the tread of machines. Near the memorial there are two white reinforced concrete balls simulating searchlight installations, and a genuine 85 mm anti-aircraft gun.
