The photograph depicts a monument on the mass grave of the crew of the destroyer "Stremitelny", located on the territory of the military section of the city cemetery The Polar. The monument is a vertical trapezium stele, mounted on a pedestal. On the stela there is a plate of black marble with the inscription: "Crew of the destroyer" Swift. "Regimental Commissar V. Lobodenko, V. 20.VII.1941". On either side of the monument there are black marble plaques with lists of dead seamen. The monument was opened in October 1969. The destroyer "Rapid" on July 20, 1941 stood at the roadstead in the Catherine's harbor of Polyarny after the battle campaign. With the raid of German bombers, the ship sank. 121 people died, including guests of the ship - artists and regimental commissar V. Lobodenko .
