Yeltsin, the regular session of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church was held. The meeting was headed by the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. Permanent and temporary members of the Holy Synod attended the meeting. The outcome of the meeting of the Holy Synod was the adopted decisions on the pressing problems of the Russian Orthodox Church, among which were the decisions on the formation of new dioceses in a number of regions of the Russian Federation. The problem of increasing cases of discrimination against Christians was also discussed.
