In the late 1970s, while working as a correspondent for the Literary Gazette in Bonn (West Germany), Yulian Semyonovich Semyonov met with Baron Eduard Alexandrovich von Faltz-Feyn - public figure of Liechtenstein and philanthropist. They were united by the noble cause of the return of lost cultural values to Russia. As a result of the International Committee created to restore Russian treasures to their homeland, the ashes of Fyodor Ivanovich Chaliapin, part of the Diaghilev-Lifar library, a unique tapestry depicting the royal family from the Livadia Palace and many other cultural values were returned to Russia.
