Seminar «Outlook of development of libraries in the XXI century»

Since 2006 the Russian state library has successfully organized the international scientifically-practical seminars of a various thematic orientation including visiting the best libraries of the world. Such seminars have already passed in libraries of Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium and China. The purpose of similar actions is in acquaintance of the Russian librarians with foreign experience as in the sphere of formation of library stocks, and the organization of information user service. It should promote formation of innovative intellection of all ranks library experts — from the ordinary librarian to the head of large library. The next seminar "Outlook of development of libraries in the XXI century" will be given at July, 19-26th, 2009 in Finland and Sweden. The seminar program is enough comprehensive and includes consideration of following problems: libraries and modern technologies in the XXI century; outlook of libraries development; the automated technologies of user’s service of users; management of modern library; creation of system of the single national-level account of electronic documents, and also perfection of system of their acquisition.
