65th Great Victory Anniversary: “Our Victory” photo contest mounted in Belgorod

18 March 2010

A photo contest “Our Victory”, marking 65th Victory anniversary in the Great Patriotic War, will be held from March to April in Belgorod.

Photos of the Great Patriotic War veterans, labor veterans, siege survivors, and prisoners of fascist camps will be represented in the category “Victorious generation”.

The category “Victory salute” welcomes photos of city holidays and mass events with patriotic orientation, monuments, sights, dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, and also memorable sites, related to events of the Great Patriotic War. The category “Heirs of Victory” will represent photos of local wars’ and military conflicts’ heroes, students of military-patriotic and military-sport clubs, and cadets. The out-of-competition category “From the family album” welcomes photos of war years.

Contestants will be divided into two age groups: authors under 30 and those over 31. The contest welcomes both photographers-professionals, and amateurs, and photographs based either on traditional or digital technologies. Photographs may be both color and black-and-white.

According to the organizers, the contest’s mission is to preserve continuity of generations, respect for the memory of war victims, and impart a feeling of pride for the country’s history among the young generation.

In each category authors of three best works will be awarded with certificates, money prize and souvenirs.
