
Internet resources: Russia enters thirty countries with the highest Internet speed
Pingdom has released the top 50 countries with the highest average Internet connection speeds.
As for Russia, it takes 27th place: users of Russia surf the Net at the average connection speed of 2,6 Mbits/s.
The three leaders are — the South Korea (16,6 Mbits/s) which has left others competitors far behind, Hong Kong (8,6 Mbits/s) and Japan (8,0 Mbits/s).
The United States appears in 12th place with average connection speeds amounting to 4,6 Mbits/s, while Germany is in 14th place (4,1 Mbits/s). In Great Britain (17th place) and France (19th place) Internet connection equals 3,9 and 3,4 1 Mbits/s accordingly.
The country with the most Internet users, China, provides connection speed of only 0,9 Mbits/s, and occupies 42nd place on the list. The second and the third positions on the list of countries with the most number of Internet users hold the United States and Japan. Russia is the seventh on this list.
These 50 countries together have more than 1.8 billion Internet users.
