E-books: “Electronic letter” award founded
A new literary award in the field of electronic books “Electronic letter” has been established in Russia. It was founded by “LitRes” company – distributor and seller of licensed e-books. This is the first award in the history of the Russian e-book market.
The award will be annually given to best works chosen by readers and “LitRes” users. “This award has no counterparts in Russia. We have offered our users an opportunity to choose the winner themselves”, – said Sergei Anuryev, Director General of “LitRes”.
The prize will be awarded in 12 nominations. Besides there will be a prize “For an active participation in development of e-book industry”, “Reader of the Year” and “Publisher of the Year”.
“The purpose of the new literary award is to attract public attention to e-reading and ensure commercial success to books and their authors”, Sergei Anuryev added.
Winners of the first literary e-book award will be announced on December 20.
