Libraries of Russia: New arrivals and rarities from the Russian State Arts Library go on display in Moscow
April 18 - May 13, 2011 the Russian State Arts Library in Moscow is running an exhibition “New Arrivals: books and rarities from holdings of the Russian State Arts Library”.
The exhibition features over 150 publications in Russian and foreign languages, which turn the spotlight on the subjects like theatre, cinema, ballet, painting, sculpture, architecture, design, fashion etc. One of its sections brings into focus books originating from the collection of the famous film critic V.G. Kisunko. All the books are available in open access.
The new collection of library’s Iconographic Department showcases old engravings, theatre photographs, sketches of costumes for performances, films and book illustrations by famous artists: M.V. Dobuzhinsky, Yu.P. Annenkov, A.G. Tyshler, V.G. Suteev, I.A. Ilyinsky, O.S. Kruchinina, A.D. Borovsky, E.P. Maklakova, B.A. Messerer.
