International events: Meeting on the upcoming Cultural Exchange Year for Russia and the Netherlands held in the Hague

In the Hague was launched a meeting focused on the upcoming Cultural Exchange Year for Russia and the Netherlands, which brought together representatives of all ministries and agencies of both countries. Mikhail Shvydkoi, Special Envoy of the President of Russia for International Cultural Relations, expressed an opinion that the year of 2013 would become “a new example of ever-growing cooperation between two countries”.

While summing up the results of the meeting, Envoy of the President of Russia told that one of the central events of the Cultural Exchange Year for Russia and the Netherlands would be opening of a large exhibition dedicated to Peter the Great. It will be staged at the Hermitage Amsterdam (branch of the State Hermitage in Amsterdam). In the end of the year famous “Concertgebouw” symphony orchestra is due to arrive to Russia with a tour.

The agreement on holding of the Cultural Exchange Year for Russia and the Netherlands will be signed on October 20 during the visit of Mark Rutte, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, to Russia.
