Libraries of Russia: Perm to host All-Russian Library Congress – 17th Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association

The All-Russian Library Congress – 17th Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association will run May 13th-18th 2012 in Perm, which was designated as “Library Capital of Russia 2012”.

The Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association, which since 2007 has a status of the All-Russian Library Congress, – is the major forum of Russian librarians, both judging by the number of participants and the wide spectrum of addressed problems concerning librarianship today. Therefore the host city is announced the “Library Capital of the Year”.

The theme of the All-Russian Library Congress 2012: “Libraries and Innovative Development of the Society”.

The Congress invites representatives of all libraries, information centers, publishing companies, bookselling organizations, archives, museums, scientific, cultural and educational institutions, institutions of law, IT and other companies, which produce equipment, products and services for libraries, as well as public organizations, state officials.

The All-Russian Library Congress – 17th Annual Conference of the Russian Library Association is conducted with support of the Ministry of Culture of Russia and Perm Krai Government.

The Congress will run along with an expo of publications, new IT, products, and services (for libraries).

The Congress’s program will consist of plenary sessions, sections and roundtable discussions, and special events.
