Information technology and telecommunications: Russia – the sixth country of connection to the networks of 3G/4G

Russia is the sixth country of the world by the number of connections to the networks of the third and fourth generations. This was stated by the head of the Qualcomm Company Dr. Paul Jacobs at the conference Innovation Qualcomm (IQ), which was held on July 2 in Moscow.

According to P. Jacobs, by 2015 in Russia more than 100 million connections to 3G/4G are expected. This will allow Russia become the largest European country in connections to these networks.

All this is happening on the background of the increase of mobile devices, connecting to mobile operators. In the period from 2013 to 2017 the smart phones delivery will be 7 billion devices. Totally by 2020 to the Internet will be connected about 25 billion devices, including the household appliances and cars. The mobile phone will be the control center of all these systems, says P. Jacobs.
