
International events: Swiss culture council to open representative office in Moscow in 2015
The Swiss Council for Culture “Pro Helvetia” will open a representative office in Moscow in June 2015 and will acquaint Russians with Swiss cinema, design, architecture and contemporary art. This was announced by the head of special projects of the council Christophe Rosset.
“Our primary goal - the support projects of cooperation between Russian and Swiss cultural institutions, the strengthening of already existing contacts and establishment of new partnerships between cultural organizations”, - said Ross. He noted that the council plans to pay special attention to work with the regions of Russia, as well as the promotion of contemporary art and creative artists, not very well known outside of Switzerland.
Projects of the program “Swiss Made in Russia. Exchange in the field of contemporary culture. 2013-2015” are divided into several areas. These are projects in the field of architecture and design, music, digital art and media art, and literature. Emphasis on the “Pro Helvetia” to the education of new translations of Swiss literature in the Russian language and the participation of Russian writers in the book fairs. As early as October 31 to November 4 in the Krasnoyarsk Book Fair will be held a presentation on the current literature of Switzerland, will be held on stage readings of Swiss plays.
The foundation “Pro Helvetia” was founded in 1939 to promote cultural exchange with other countries. Its offices are in Paris, Venice, Warsaw, Cairo, Johannesburg, New Delhi and Shanghai.
