International conferences: Theoretical and Practical Conference “A Scotchman in Russian service, count Jacob Vilimovich Bruce” in Moscow

April 18, 2014 the Museum "Garden Ring" (Moscow) holds an International scientific-practical conference "A Scotsman in the Russian service, count Jacob Vilimovich Bruce," timed to coincide with the Year of Culture of the Russian Federation, the 345th anniversary of J. V. Bruce and the Year of Great Britain in Russia.

Count Jacob Vilimovich Bruce - one of the most interesting and mysterious characters of Russian history, associate of Peter the Great. His name was hidden for decades from the people behind the legends and mystical stories that were told about him across the country. In recent decades, historians managed to disclose most of the biography of Bruce, but the study of his life still continues.
