Society and culture: The Scientific conference “M. Y. Lermontov: intercultural dialogue in Eurasia” in Pyatigorsk

The M. Y. Lermontov State Museum-Reserve (Pyatigorsk) from May 12-14, 2014 holds the All-Russian Scientific Lermontov conference with international participation “M. Y. Lermontov: intercultural dialogue in Eurasia”, dedicated to the 200^th anniversary of the poet’s birth. 

The purpose and objectives of the conference: the summarizing the study and life and work of Mikhail Lermontov in the XIX-XXI centuries, prospecting and development of new approaches in the development of the creative heritage of the poet, summarizing the experience of museums in Russia and abroad, to nurture a new generation of researchers in the study of the work of Lermontov in the development of innovative capacity of the industry, to draw public attention to the Lermontov heritage and the M. Y. Lermontov Museum in the Caucasus in connection with the 200th anniversary of the poet.

As part of the conference is scheduled to hold a round table on "Lermontovedenie at the present stage: results, problems and prospects" and a cultural program dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of M. Y. Lermontov. Following the conference is planned to publish a collection for publication of materials.
