Russian language: The National conference of Russian language teachers to the 700th anniversary of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Ryazan
In the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library on 22-23 August 2014 was held the National Russian language teachers, dedicated role of St. Sergius in modern Russia.
Teachers of literature gathered in Ryazan from 43 regions of the country to discuss the mystical experience of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the service of the Fatherland, the linguistic identity of the monk, the promotion of the Russian language and Russian education, the role of NGOs in the development of the school literary education and other relevant issues.
The head of the region Oleg Kovalev in his welcoming speech said that the name of Sergius of Radonezh, is most closely related to the Ryazan land, because Pereyaslavl-Ryazan was one of the cities where he arrived on a peacekeeping mission, and largely due to the authority of St. Sergius, his diplomatic efforts, the unification of the Russian lands has become possible.
As part of the conference were also held roundtables in different directions – lingo didactic, literary, historical and cultural. Participants visited the museum of the academician Sreznevsky in the Ryazan State University and the Museum-Reserve of Esenin in the Konstantinovo village.
