History and culture: International Scientific Conference “Theaters of the First World War” in Saint-Petersburg

October 24-25, 2014 the Saint-Petersburg Museum of Theater and Music Art hosts the International Scientific Conference “Theaters of the First World War”. 

In the year of the centenary of the First World War the museum holds a scientific conference devoted to the complex, largely tipping historical period. Objectives of the conference are to present a broad picture of theater and art life of the era, and to attract the attention of researchers to this topic.

The reports at the conference will be affected by issues such as activities of theatrical organizations and individual representatives of the theater and music world in 1914-1918, including charity; the influence of the military situation on the life and work of the actors, dancers, directors, composers, artists, writers; the theme of war in the theatrical and musical art; new directions and trends in the development of theater, music and visual arts; bright, significant events of theatrical and musical culture; theatrical forms of pop art and others.
