Information technology and museums: The meeting “Strategy of the project development “The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch” in Saint-Petersburg

December 10-11, 2014 the department of the project development “The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch” holds a Meeting for the leaders of virtual branches “Strategy of the project development “The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch” expanding the geography, the composition of participants and the transition to new technological solutions”. As part of the meeting is scheduled the introduction with new multimedia projects of the State Russian Museum as well as the discussion of the following topical issues:

- The development of networking (online-lectures, concept of a new portal of the project);

- The introduction of new technological solutions in the activity of virtual branches in the regions;

- The program COMP – an experience of the use, perspective of development;

- The strategy of the formation of open digital inter-museum collections of works of Russian art from the collections of museum-participants of the project “The Russian Museum: the Virtual Branch”;

- The creation of an educational platform for distant learning as part of the interagency associations of virtual branches;

- The actualization of the activity of virtual branches with the use of social networks.
