
Museums of Russia: The Srednevolzhsky branch of the State Center of Contemporary Art created in Samara
The Srednevolzhsky branch of the State Center of Contemporary art in accordance with the Decree of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation is created in Samara.
The new branch will be housed in the building of the NCCA Factory Canteen by Maslennikov, built in 1930-1932 and designed by prominent Moscow architect Ekaterina Maximova. This structure is a unique object of cultural heritage, which entered the international directory of architecture. The building, built on the latest technologies of the early XX century, is an architectural model of the Soviet avant-garde.
In the Srednevolzhsky branch of the NCCA is scheduled to present art as young novice authors and recognized masters of contemporary art collection of Russian and foreign institutions, to hold public lectures, film and video screenings, concerts for a wide audience, conferences and seminars for professionals. After the repair and restoration work in the building will be housed exhibition halls, cinema and theater and concert halls, a children's school of modern art, the residence of artists, media library, coffee club, book and gift shops.
Thus, the new branch should become the multifunctional center of the development of contemporary art, open for experiments in the field of art culture, unique for the region space of professional and audience community.
