Book publishing and book distribution: Books from Russia are presented at the Havana International Book Fair
February 12, 2015 in Havana (Cuba) in the historical fortress of San-Carlos-de-la-Cabaña starts the annual International Book Fair.
The exhibition takes place in the 24th time. In the Cuban capital it will last until February 22, and then will move to the province, which will be held almost to the end of the first decade of March.
The Havana Book Fair is one of the largest book fairs in the world and the most important event in the publishing world of Latin America. According to organizers this year is expected to host 199 participants from 31 countries. Traditionally Russia is among invited to the participation.
In the pavilion, securing Russia since 2010, when it was a guest of honor at the Havana Fair, as part of the project "Books of Russia» (Los Libros de Rusia) will be featured more than 500 titles in Russian. In addition to traditional textbooks and dictionaries of contemporary and classical literature, art books, art books and publications for children, this time in connection with the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory will be exhibited books devoted to the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
The art component to complement and decorate the book exposition will be an exhibition of the famous Russian artist, illustrator and writer Leonid Tishkov. The exhibition is called "12" and includes twelve illustrations of the artist to such works of the last century as "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin, "Tree in Ivanovo" by Alexander Vvedensky, "12 chairs" and "Golden Calf" by Ilf and Petrov.
A separate program expects Cuban children. As in previous years, it will take place children's drawing contest "I draw Russia" – in the final will be announced and awarded the winners. Also, thanks to the efforts of the Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba children can take part in an alternative drawing contest "Cuba - my love".
