World History: A photo exhibition, dedicated to the history of the Great Patriotic War, in Geneva
Dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory photo exhibition, organized by the Permanent Missions of Russia and Belarus to the United Nations, opened in the Palace of Nations in Geneva. The exposition consists of several stands with pictures, which show all the major stages of World War II: Nazi invasion on the Soviet Union, the battles of Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk, the Belarusian offensive, the liberation of a number of European countries, including Austria and Norway, by the Red Army.
The Allies’ link-up on the Elbe and a seizure of Berlin, a work of home front and the deeds of guerrilla groups, the Soviet people’s life during the siege of Leningrad and in the Nazi concentration camps are captured on displayed photographs. The photographs and materials for the preparation of exhibition were used by courtesy of the Russian Military-historical Society.
This exhibition aroused great interest among foreign diplomats, UN staff employees and international organizations.
