Information technology and museums: Exhibits from the collections of the State Museum of the History of Religion are digitized

The “Electronic Archive Corporation” has digitized objects from the collection of the State Museum of the History of Religion (Saint-Petersburg).

It is created more than 400 high-quality digital copies of museums objects from the collections of “Religions of the East”, “Precious metals and fabrics”, “Religions of the West”, “Orthodoxy”. The works were carried out on the territory of the museum on the scanners of the “PauerScan”. The equipment guarantees the authentic original copies: on a digital image are recreated the smallest details and characteristics of the object until the texture of the material.

E-copies of paintings, engravings, lithographs, documents, different in their function of textile objects, will be used by the museum in its professional activity.
