
Information technology and museums: E-book on the role of Russia in the Great War of the “Tsarskoye Selo” Museum-Reserve awarded the International contest FIAMP-2015
"Tsarskoye Selo" Museum-Reserve received a Silver Award of the International Contest FIAMP-2015. The ceremony was held on November 3, 2015 in the Hungarian National Museum (Budapest). Experts praised the interactive e-book for iPad about Russia's role in the Great War, created on the initiative of the State Museum "Tsarskoye Selo". Analogues of this publication do not exist in Russia, nor in the world.
This international award the museum has received in the category "Multimedia'Art Interactif" (interactive programs). The jury evaluated the projects of the participants on the following criteria: sound quality, video quality, originality, informative content, educational value and ease of navigation.
FIAMP contest is organized by the International Committee of ICOM (International Council of Museums) on audiovisual and multimedia technologies - AVICOM. The purpose of this international professional forum – to contribute to the development, promotion and dissemination of audiovisual products (film and video), as well as media (CD, DVD, internet sites, interactive programs), created by museums or other institutions related to cultural heritage.
E-book is available to visitors of the Martial Chamber and it is also available in the AppStore. Children and adults are immersed in the atmosphere of the era and get historically verified, substantiated information on the participation and the role of Russia in the First World War. The texts, captions for pictures and video titles have been translated into English.
This book makes it possible to not only read the text, but also to study for the first time gathered together the elements of graphic culture of the early XX century - posters, propaganda splint, 34 attributes of the armed forces of the Russian army; increase or consider in detail the details of the uniforms of Russian and European armies during the World War I; study the illustrations (each image gallery complements the views and portraits); view the unique video footage, accompanied by music during World War I, and voice-overs; to study made in 3D objects of military equipment, battle maps.
The book is created in the style of authentic graphic receptions of the beginning of the XX century. Video is mounted using mounting techniques chronicles the real time of the World War I.
