
The Year of Literature in Russia 2015: Exhibition “Don. Sholokhov. Russia” to open at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation
November 2, 2015 the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve (Rostov region) will present the exhibition "Don. Sholokhov. Russia" at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation (Moscow).
The exhibition is timed to the 110th birthday anniversary of the author and the Year of Literature in Russia. Its main theme is the life and work of Mikhail Sholokhov, his public activities, the international significance of the writer.
Documents, photographs, fragments of the documentary by the Rostov newsreel studio will tell about the ceremony of awarding the Nobel Prize to Sholokhov in December 1965 for his novel "And Quiet Flows the Don", "in recognition of the artistic power and integrity that he showed in his Don epic, which reflected the historical stage of life of the Russian people."
Visitors will also learn about the Don region, the village of Vyoshenskaya and its sights, the activities of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.
