Memorable dates of Russia: The exhibition to the centenary birth anniversary of composer Georgy Sviridov is opened at the Russian State Library

In the department of printed music and sound recordings of the Russian State Library (Moscow) is opened the exhibition "Georgy Sviridov (1915-1998): to the centenary birth anniversary". The exhibition presents editions of his works and sound recordings.

The exhibition presents many works by Sviridov, as well as books about his life and work. It is worth noting the book "Georgy Sviridov in the memoirs of contemporaries" (Moscow, Young Guard, 2006). This collection is designed for a wide range of readers and it is the first book of memories of Georgy Sviridov. It for the first time features an attempt to tell the reader not only about the work of the composer, but also about his personal life, that not everyone knows. The great composer, philosopher, master of words is told about by his friends, colleagues: famous musicians, writers and scientists. Also the book first publishes letters to the composer's wife and son. The publication is illustrated with photos from the personal archives of relatives and authors of memoirs.
