Information technology and history: British scientists created the interactive 3D-model of the grave and skeleton of Richard II
March 22, 2016 British archaeologists said they have created an interactive 3D-model of the skeleton graves and the King of England. Digital reconstruction can be rotated, and any Internet user will be able to examine it from all sides.
Creating a 3D-model is timed to the first anniversary of the reburial of Richard III. A year ago, the remains of the King were ceremonially reburied in Leicester Cathedral – the ceremony was attended by the Archbishop of Canterbury, local clergy and representatives of the world religions.
Several years ago, British archaeologists from the University of Leicester have found the bones of Richard III - the legendary King of England, whose motto was "Loyalty makes me steadfast". Richard III is rightly considered one of the most famous rulers in world history: his popularity began with William Shakespeare's play (which, however, the king appears villain and a traitor). Subsequently, many authors have turned to the image of the last of the male line Plantagenet in English throne - for example, the king appears in the novel "The Black Arrow" by Robert Louis Stevenson.
