Information technology and history: The virtual reconstruction of the Holy Monastery is created in the Moscow State University

The Department of Historical Information of the History faculty of the MSU completed a unique work to create virtual reconstruction of the Moscow Holy Monastery (mid XVIII – early XX centuries) and the analysis of the evolution of the spatial infrastructure of the object on the basis of the methods of 3D-modeling.

Works on this project, supported by a grant from the Russian Science Foundation for two years served as the team of scientists, teachers and students of the History Faculty of the Moscow State University with the participation of specially invited architects, art historians, archaeologists, experts archivists, conservators and programmers.

The results are shown in the public domain in a special section of the project on the website of History faculty of the Moscow State University, where everyone can get acquainted with the source base study and the construction of virtual reconstruction, presented by means of modern 3D-imaging, including digital video review of the monastery complex at early and late time sections, the visual effects of augmented reality and etc.
