International initiatives: The BRICS Network University will behave in two years

Established a year ago, the BRICS Network University of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) will get to active work in the next two years and can combine about 50 universities from five countries - the members of the block, according to vice-rector for international academic mobility of the Russian University of Peoples' Friendship (RUDN) Larisa Efremova.

The BRICS Network University will be created by the existing scheme of similar projects - the universities of the CIS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Vice-rector reminded that it took four years to launch the SCO Network University, and today it includes 79 universities of the countries-members of the organization.

Among the approved priorities of education are the Economy, the Energetics and the Food Ecology. Now comes under a development are the control mechanisms, a selection of the involved universities and the common requirements, as well as the joint programs.
