emory of Russia: Memory of Russian soldiers taking part in the First World War immortalized in Obninsk

George Cross in honor of the victory of the Russian army in the First World War was opened in Obninsk in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the city.

The memorial sign is carved from white stone cross of St. George height of more than three meters on a cubic base. In the center is a medallion in which is placed the relief image of St. George spearing a dragon.

Similar monuments of the Russian army were emerged in several Russian cities, as well as in Serbia, France and Greece. In all of these countries were held military action, which were attended by Russian soldiers.
