Culture and authority: In Moscow for the first time is held a cultural summit of world cities

Cultural Forum summit of world cities is held in Moscow from 5 to 7 October 2016, it is attended by heads of departments and cultural agencies 33 cities.

This Summit was founded in 2012 on the initiative of the Mayor of London, and is designed as an analogue of "Group of Twenty» (G20) in the field of culture.

The main theme of the forum will be the role of culture in the success of modern cities and improving the living standards of citizens in metropolitan areas.

Apart from the main theme, participants will discuss how festivals and cultural centers develop the economy of cities, whether the technology to create creative cities of the future and ensure the participation of citizens.

Head of the Moscow Department of Culture Alexander Kibovsky said that the choice of Moscow as the venue for the summit is recognition of the results of that the capital has achieved in recent years "in the development of the urban environment by means of culture".

Cultural forum of international cities was established at the initiative of the Mayor of London. Its participants were Amsterdam, Austin, Bogota, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Edinburgh, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Lagos, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Melbourne, Montreal, Moscow, New York, Paris, Rome, Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, Seoul, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Singapore, Stockholm, Sydney, Taipei, Tokyo, Toronto, Vienna and Warsaw.
