Information technology and museums: Accounting books were digitized at the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics

ELAR Corporation has digitized accounting documents of the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics (Moscow). More than thirty books of receipts that were in the museum in 1970-1980s of the last century, as well as more modern, have been scanned and indexed to fill the museum information retrieval systems.

"Books of general fund revenues and books of scientific and auxiliary fund before scanning are not embroidered and in electronic form they are converted by planetary scanners, - says the project manager of digitizing Yuliya Tsareva. - The Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics uses equipment of ELAR PlanScan C. Due to non-contact scanning technology, lack of infrared and ultraviolet radiation, as well as through the organization of the process it is provided the original security with them when receiving electronic copies".

"By scanning receipts of books by their insurance is created the fund in the museum in digital form, - said the deputy head of the directions of work with museums Corporation ELAR Eugene Mokeev. - Filling the information system data and images of the museum of accounting documents are aimed at the optimization of accounting and activity, increasing control over the safety of the funds".
