
History of Russia: The exhibition "Russia. XX Century" in Moscow
In Izhevsk, February 21, 2017, was opened a project of the Multimedia Art Museum / Moscow House of Photography "Russia. XX century". Visitors will see pictures from Russian museums, archives and library collections. The exhibition presents the works of the best Russian and Soviet photographers of the XX century.
The pictures depicted the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, revolutionary events, the elections to the State Duma, the First World War episodes, as well as the daily lives of the various estates - family holidays, home theaters, sport, street scenes, the construction and the opening of the Moscow Art Theater, the Mariinsky Theatre, Diaghilev's troupe travel to Nice, Voloshin’s country house in Koktebel, the exhibition "World of Art". It is also possible to see the pictures, which depict Emperor Nicholas II and his family in Tobolsk, the Civil War, the birth of Constructivism and Konstantin Melnikov, Lenin's funeral and the construction of the mausoleum, portraits of Mayakovski, Eisenstein, Utesov, Bulgakov. Evidence of the construction of the Dnieper, the adoption of the General Plan of Moscow in 1935, the visit to Russia by Bernard Shaw and many more.
The exhibition runs from 23 February to 2 April at two sites: at the Exhibition center "Gallery" will be featured images of the 1900-1917 years, at the Museum of Izhevsk – during the period from 1918 to 1940.
