Big Ethnographic Dictation was written in the Tambov Regional Center of the Presidential Library

November 3, an international educational campaign "Big Ethnographic Dictation" was held in Russia and the CIS countries to assess the level of ethnographic literacy of the population and its knowledge of the peoples of Russia. Within the framework of the campaign, 2,600 testing sites were organized. 26 sites operated in the Tambov region. The Tambov Regional Center of the Presidential Library, acting on the basis of the Pushkin Tambov Regional Universal Scientific Library, has become the organizer of the central site of the Tambov region, where 64 participants were able to test their level of knowledge and broaden their horizons in the field of history and ethnography.

The solemn part was opened by the hymn of the "Big Ethnographic Dictation" - "There are lots of peoples – but the country is one", the author of the text is Bogdan Anfinogenov, music - Vladislav Gorzhak. Guest of Honor of the library is a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Derzhavin Tambov State University, Dean of the Faculty of History, World Politics and Sociology V. V. Romanov and Deputy Director of the Pushkin Tambov Regional Universal Scientific Library L. N. Patrina in the welcoming speeches stressed the importance of holding such forums-tests that allow not only to test their knowledge, but also stimulate to further development, self-education. Before the dictation, everyone could see the film "The End of the Time of Troubles" from the Presidential Library funds.

Results: The age of the participants of the campaign: from 17 to 72 years. And the highest scores were among the winners at the age of 41 to 60 years.

The Presidential Library portal features electronic collection "Tambov region: pages of history". The collection includes studies, statistical materials and archival documents of the late XVIII and early XX centuries that characterize the administrative, economic, demographic, educational and religious situation of the Tambov province.
