Those who 75 years ago fought at Stalingrad were recalled at the Russian cultural and information center in Sofia

Russian and Bulgarian veterans, as well as those whose childhood was in terrible military years, heard the words of gratitude, watched the festive concert and the exhibition dedicated to the Battle of Stalingrad, as well as received gifts.

Veterans, representatives of Bulgarian public and political organizations, members of the Russian diplomatic mission and numerous guests gathered in the Great Hall of the RICC. Opening the solemn event, the head of the office Pavel Zhuravlyov congratulated all those present on the commemorative date and stressed that the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad entered the world history as a turn to the complete and final defeat of Nazism. On behalf of the embassy, ​​the adviser-envoy Mikhail Barilovich delivered a special greeting from the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.

Poetry and songs of the war years were heard at the festive concert,. "In the front-line forest", "Wait for me" and, of course, "Smuglyanka" and "Katyusha". The culmination of the program was refreshment: at the end of the holiday, all participants of the holiday moved to the site in front of the RCCF building, where the real field kitchen was located, and everyone wishing tasted hot buckwheat porridge with stew. From the loudspeakers the songs of the war years sounded, and on the porch of the center the veterans danced the waltz.
