Music of the era of Peter I will be performed in the Presidential Library

February 16, 2018 at 20:00 the Presidential Library (Senatskaya Square, 3) will host the first concert of the musical and educational project "Music of the Russian statehood". The event will be dedicated to the founder of St. Petersburg, the great reformer Peter I.

The music of Russia and Western Europe of the era of the first Russian emperor will be represented by world-famous bands and performers. The program of the evening includes performances by the Admiralty Orchestra of the Leningrad Naval Base, the Danilov Monastery Festival Choir, the Barocco Concertato Early Music Ensemble and the rhythmic show of drummers. The audience will learn about the enormous influence of Peter I on the development of musical culture, will enjoy the works he performed.

"Music of the Russian statehood" is a cycle of ten multimedia concerts accompanied by a fascinating narrative of the famous Russian historian, writer, creator of the historical project "Russia is My History" Alexander Myasnikov. All the events will be held at the Presidential Library.

The audience is waiting for a story about the musical preferences of Russian emperors, a collection of national anthems and military marches, presentations of old musical instruments and much more.

The organizers of the concert cycle are the Foundation of the International Festival of Classical Music "Palaces of St. Petersburg" and the Presidential Library. The project "Music of the Russian statehood" was carried out using the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society provided by the Foundation for Presidential Grants.

February 15, 2018, from 11:00 to 13:00, media representatives are invited to an open dress rehearsal for the concert, where they will be given the opportunity to record material for information plots. An approach to the press will be organized with the participation of Alexander Myasnikov and Maria Safaryants.

Please, note, that the entrance to the Presidential Library for media representatives is carried through the entrance № 2 only upon prior request and showing a passport.
