A multimedia exhibition dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Baikal - Amur Mainline (BAM), which is available for viewers 12 years and older, was opened at the Presidential Library. The exhibition was prepared by staff from the Regional Center of the Presidential Library, which is based on the National Library of the Republic of Buryatia.
The date of opening of the exhibition was chosen for a reason. On July 8, 1974, a resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) and the Council of Ministers of the USSR was adopted regarding the construction of the BAM railway. This is the date on which the celebration of the 50th anniversary of BAM will take place.
