End of Sarikamish operation of the Russian Caucasus Army during the World War I
17 January 1915
January (4) 17, 1915 during the World War I of 1914-1918 was completed the Sarikamish operation - the hostilities near the town of Sarikamish (north-east Turkey), led by the Russian Caucasus Army, commanded by General A. Z. Myshlaevsky against the 3rd Turkish army led by General Enver Pasha.

Russian-Bulgarian Army wins the Shipka Battle
26 August 1877
14 (26) August 1877, during the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878, the joint Russian-Bulgarian Army under the command of the Russian generals F. F. Radetsky and N. G. Stoletov, won Shipka Pass in the Balkan, having repulsed the persistent attacks of the Turkish army led by Suleiman Pasha. The Battle of Shipka was the decisive one in the history of the liberation war for independence of Bulgaria.

The Sea Battle of Sinop was fought
30 November 1853
On November 18 (30) 1853 as part of the Eastern (Crimean) War (1853-1856) the Black Sea squadron under the command of Pavel Stepanovich Nakhivov during the sea battle of Sinop inflicted a crushing defeat on the Turkish squadron of Osman Pasha. This battle became the last major naval battle during the Age of Sail.
