Culture of indigenous minorities living in the North of Russia presented in Budapest

On September 24 as part of the International Year of Indigenous Languages proclaimed by the United Nations, the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Budapest held the informational and educational program, which was attended by representatives of Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky Municipal District. They presented the culture of small indigenous ethnic groups of the Russian Federation: the Dolgans, Nganasans, Evenks, Nenets, Entsy (the Enets people).

October 1 marks the International Music Day, established on the initiative of the International Music Council of UNESCO in 1973. One of the ideological inspirers of this holiday was the Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. He wrote an open letter to the United Nations, in which he asked to create the Music Day and therefore spotlight the significant role of music in the unity of peoples and exchange of cultural experience.

It was established in 1993 at the initiative of the United Nations General Assembly in order to draw public attention to the problems families face. All over the world, conferences, meetings and seminars dedicated to this date discuss issues related to the respectful attitude of relatives to each other, equality of spouses, children's rights, etc.
