Информационные технологии и право: Президент РФ поручил разработать план поэтапного внедрения электронного судопроизводства

Президент РФ Д.А. Медведев поручил премьер-министру Владимиру Путину и председателю Высшего арбитражного суда (ВАС) Антону Иванову разработать план поэтапного внедрения электронного судопроизводства. Пилотный проект будет реализован в арбитражных судах.  

World libraries: The largest digital library of Haiti

The State University of Haiti (UEH) suffered considerable damage. Numerous buildings were severely damaged or completely destroyed by the earthquake. 11 of the 12 libraries of the University are on the ground. To support the resumption of classes at the beginning of January 2011 Libraries Without Borders (Bibliothèques Sans Frontières BSF) provides a quick solution for access to scientific and technical information for students, researchers and teachers in Haiti.  

Digital libraries abroad: Great War Archive rolled out in Germany

The German National Library, Oxford University and Europeana have signed an agreement to digitise family papers and memorabilia from the First World War. The collaboration will bring German soldiers’ stories online alongside their British counterparts in a 1914-18 archive

More than forty-three million Russians surf Internet. The figure was announced by the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications of Russia, Andrei Romanchenko, during the board session of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media.

Archives: USA return historical documents stolen from national archives to Russia

Yellowed from the time pages of decrees which bear the signatures of Russian Empresses Anna Ioannovna, Elizabeth Petrovna, Catherine the Great, Alexander I, Alexander II and Alexander III, Nicholas I and the last Russian Emperor – Nicholas II, as well as orders of legendary Soviet commanders Vasily Blyukher and Georgy Zhukov, were returned by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to Russia.

History of Russia: Exhibition of the “Russian Historical Portrait” project in Moscow

On December 2 2010 at the State Historical Museum in Moscow was launched an exhibition “Russian portrait miniature. Private collection of Russian miniature of late 17th – 19th cc.” from the collection of the SEPHEROT Foundation. The collection has been unveiled for the first time and joins the museum’s major project “Russian Historical Portrait”.
