The Presidential Library will host the musical premiere of the XXI century
April 27, 2018 at 20:00 the Presidential Library (Senatskaya Square, 3) will host the next concert of the music and educational project "Music of the Russian Statehood": "Paul I - the Patron of the Arts". As an overture to the concert, the “Palaces of St. Petersburg” Foundation will give the Presidential Library, which becomes the center of musical art, a concert grand piano.
On this day the Presidential Library will host the premiere in the XXI century performance of the symphony-concerto for violin and viola of the "Russian Mozart" by Dmitry Bortnyansky. In the last century, the symphony was in oblivion - it was practically not performed from the stage. The first notes were published in 1790 during the composer's lifetime and reissued only 163 years later - in 1953.
The main part of the concert is composed of the works of the great Mozart. Emperor Paul I was a great admirer of the composer. It was for Paul and his family during their visit to Vienna that Mozart's opera was given, and the author himself sat behind the harpsichord and directed the play! The wife of Emperor Maria Feodorovna, like Paul himself, was a very good pianist, the teachers of the imperial family were J. Paisiello and D. S. Bortnyansky himself.
Mozart's brilliant music will be performed by the virtuosic clarinetist of our time, the Italian Giampiero Sobrino.
The voice of the evening will be the magnificent soprano by Eleonora Lyons. Only April 27, the Australian singer will visit St. Petersburg to perform at the concert "Paul I - the Patron of the Arts". Eleonora has long conquered the Russian masters, winning the International contest of young opera singers Elena Obraztsova. She performed at the Sydney Opera House, opera stages and concert halls in Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Russia.
The Russian part of the "stellar horizon" of this evening: violinist, Honored Artist of Russia, art director of the festival Maria Safaryants; viola player, soloist and accompanist of the viola group of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia under the leadership of Vladimir Spivakov Svetlana Stepchenko; pianist, laureate of international competitions Pavel Rikerus.
"Music of the Russian Statehood" is a cycle of ten multimedia concerts accompanied by a fascinating narrative of the famous Russian historian, writer, creator of the project "Russia is My History" Alexander Myasnikov. The organizers of the concert cycle are the Foundation of the International Festival of Classical Music "Palaces of St. Petersburg" and the Presidential Library. The project "Music of the Russian Statehood" was carried out using the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society provided by the Foundation for Presidential Grants. All events take place in the Presidential Library.
The concert will be broadcasted live on the Presidential Library portal in the section "Live Broadcast".
